The North South University Law and Mooting Society, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, successfully hosts the Grand Finale of the National Policy Competition 2025 on Thursday, 18 September 2025, at a packed NSU Audi 801. The North South University Chapter organised the event as part of the Festival of Youth 2025, commemorating the first anniversary of the July Uprising. This flagship competition was designed to engage university students in meaningful policy, development, and leadership discussions. It provided a crucial platform for young minds across higher educational institutions to contribute to the national policymaking and decision-making, a press release said.
The program began with the national anthem, followed by welcome remarks from Prof. Md. Rizwanul Islam, Professor of Law and Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. The morning session featured a series of thought-provoking policy paper presentations by the finalist teams, who demonstrated innovation, strong research skills, and practical solutions before an esteemed panel of judges.
The ceremony was graced by Lutfey Siddiqi, Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser (Adviser Status) as the Chief Guest. He stated, “When we ignore the evidence presented for certain information and present it as if it were our thought, it can become misinformation itself”. Md. Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Benajir Ahmed, Hon’ble Founding Life Member of the Board of Trustees of North South University, attended as Special Guests. The event was presided over by Prof. Abdur Rob Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) and Treasurer of North South University. He congratulated the North South University Law & Mooting Society and the Ministry for arranging this event.
After the presentations, the judges shared their reflections, commending the participants’ depth of analysis, creativity, and professionalism. They particularly noted the originality and real-world applicability of the proposed policy solutions.
The grand finale concluded with the announcement of results and award distribution, where the winning teams were recognised for their outstanding analytical abilities and meaningful contributions to policy discourse. The event’s champion was Team TriLex, the 1st runner-up was Ink and Impact, and the 2nd was The Litigation Wizards. In his closing address, the Session Chair congratulated all participants and organisers for ensuring the program’s success.
The competition once again highlighted North South University’s commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world, high-impact experiences, following the success of the country’s first-ever National Mock Trial Competition earlier this year.
