The newcomer and annual cultural festival of Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) Gulshan Badda Branch ended with a grand event. Eminent poet and editor of Daily Jugantor, poet Abdul Hai Sikder, was present as the chief guest at the festival. Eminent NazrulSangeet artist FatemaTuz Zohra was present as the special guest. Also present as special guests were Khan Mohammad Salek (Editor, Daily Dhaka Press), writer and General Manager of Agrani Bank Abu Hasan Talukder, President of Bangladesh Film Journalists Association (BACHSAS) Kamrul Hasan Darpan, Chairman of Basecamp Grammar School Mohammad BadruzzamanTalukder. The program was presided over by Branch Head Nasir Ahmed and the welcome speech was delivered by the institution’s Principal ToufiqApu, a press release said.
The program started with a drawing competition. The invited guests announced the results of the drawing competition and then the musical performance started with Raga Bageshree and Bhupali. The entire program was filled with the cultural atmosphere of the motherland. The touch of the native culture was revealed in the songs, dances, recitations or guitar performances of the teachers and students. The art gallery auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy was filled with the aesthetic performances of the students. In her turn to speak about the program, special guest Fatima Tuz Zohra asked whether we are forgetting our roots? If we teach litchi chor instead of black sheep, will it cause such a loss now? I hope that this branch of BAFA will move towards real music practice and pure cultural practice. Following this topic, the chief guest said, if we wanted, a cultural university could have been established in our country, but unfortunately, it did not happen. We may have gone to India to get education but there is no cultural university in our own country. It could have become a university, I hope that it is still possible. In his welcome speech at the beginning of the program, ToufiqApu said that this branch, dedicated to the practice of pure culture, is uncompromising in cultural practice. The teachers of each department ensure the syllabus of the children. Therefore, we are quite confident about the quality of education. As a result, our students are able to leave their mark on any competition in Bangladesh. At the end of the program, President Nasir Ahmed thanked the sponsoring organizations Demand, Tavas, Goldsand, ASN Concern, MBN Engineering and Ray Communication, as well as all the invited guest teachers and students, and declared the meeting closed and closed.
