EBL presents Technovation ’25 at St. Joseph School

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL), in collaboration with St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, recently organized Technovation’25, a flagship technology festival aimed at inspiring young minds in IT, robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital creativity, a press release said.

The inaugural event, held on the school’s Dhaka campus, brought together students, educators, and distinguished guests. Syed Almas Kabir, Director of FBCCI and Managing Director of MetroNet BD, attended as the Chief Guest. Qazi Mutmainna Tahmida, Additional Director of the Financial Inclusion Department at Bangladesh Bank, joined as Special Guest, while Sarmin Atik, EVP and Head of Liability and Wealth Management at EBL, was the Guest of Honour. Br. Leo James Pereira, CSC, Principal of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, also addressed the ceremony.

Throughout the festival, students showcased their talents in hackathons, coding challenges, app and web development, robotics, Olympiads, and e-sports competitions. The program concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, recognizing winners across different categories.

As part of the event, Qazi Mutmainna Tahmida of Bangladesh Bank and Sarmin Atik of EBL highlighted the importance of financial literacy. They engaged with students on the benefits of School Banking, emphasizing how early exposure to financial services fosters financial inclusion and equips young people with lifelong money management skills.
