PKSF mulls special measures for development of cottage, micro enterprises

DHAKA : Palli Karma-Shayak Foundation (PKSF) is making special interventions for the development of cottage and micro enterprises in the country. The decision was made at the 262nd meeting of the PKSF Governing Body on 28 October 2025. Presided over by PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, the meeting was attended by Governing Body Members Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain, Nurun Nahar, Farzanah Chowdhury, Prof Dr Md Taufiqul Islam, and Lila Rashid, PhD, and PKSF Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader, a press release said.

The meeting was informed that the cottage and micro enterprises are a key source of employment but their contribution to the national economy is still not as significant as it should have been. Against this backdrop, PKSF has allocated Tk 4,783 crore for the development of these enterprises. The Partner Organizations of PKSF are expected to add funds to this amount from their internal and external sources to, in turn, disburse around Tk 90,000 crore to entrepreneurs at the grassroots.
