Walton cables approved for electrical use in Maldives

Bangladeshi electronics giant Walton has accomplished another milestone in its export business in the latest move of its global presence, since it started exporting locally made power cables to Maldives upon receiving the approval certificate from Male Utility Regulatory Authority, a press release said.

Walton Cables’ Product Manager Md. Hasibul Haque said that certificate of approval of the Utility Regulatory Authority is mandatory for using power cables in electrical installation in Maldives. The regulatory body gives the approval when the products meet the international standards. In continuation of this effort, Ranfaun Private Limited, a Maldivian electronics brand and Walton’s business partner in Maldives, have applied for that certificate for using Walton cables in the electrical installations in Maldives and secured the certificate of approval from the regulatory body after necessary test and examination of Walton cables. Ranfaun is now marketing Walton brand products and providing customer services in Maldives. Already, Walton has sent two shipments of power cables to Ranfaun.

Walton Cables’ Chief Business Officer Razu Ahmmed said, “Maldives is a small country, but its per capita income is high. The country is a great attraction to tourists all over the world. We are very happy to start our brand business there with Walton cables. The country has nearly $30 million worth of power cable market presently and the market size is expanding day by day. We hoped that Walton cables will be able to secure a strong market position in Maldives.”

He also said that Walton cables are going to be exported to at least four countries after Maldives very soon.

According to Walton authority, they focused on expanding Walton’s brand business in over 100 countries across the world aims to be one of the best global electronics brands around the world. In this regard, Walton has already expanded its brand business over 50 countries of Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and America.
