Emirates has invested AED 85 million to install over 200 biometrics-enabled cameras across Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB). The new system allows passengers to pass through Check-In, Immigration, Lounges, and Boarding using facial recognition—eliminating the need for passports or boarding passes, a press release said.

Developed with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigner Affairs Dubai (GDRFAD), the initiative speeds up airport processing and enhances passenger convenience.

Customers aged 18 and above can register once via the Emirates app, Self-Service Kiosks, or Check-In desks to use the dedicated Biometric Zones and GDRFAD Smart Gates for faster boarding and arrivals. Biometric access will soon be available for flight connections as well.
