Recently, a highly impactful workshop on ‘Productivity and Quality Enhancement: Emphasis on World Quality Week’ was successfully organized at the JTI factory in Tongi, Bangladesh. QA Harbor Limited and Kazuko Bhuiyan Trust jointly organized the event, with SubscriptionPro, CORNQ, XOR Geek, and Nymph Solutions as co-organizers, a press release said.
Around 30 corporate professionals from diverse industries attended the workshop. Masudur Rahaman conducted a training session on ‘Kaizen’. Okabayashi Kuniaki conducted another session on ‘5S’. Tomoko Yasuda, along with Sayaka Ozawa and Nishimura Nanako conducted the final training session on ‘Issou Ichimoku’ meaning “One Step, One Look”.
The highlight of the day was the hands-on visit to JTI’s Tongi factory – widely regarded as a leading example of how Kaizen and 5S can be seamlessly integrated into daily operations. Participants observed best practices in action, showcasing how structured processes and a culture of continuous improvement drive efficiency and excellence.
Reflecting on his experience during the workshop, Brigadier General M. Mofizur Rahman (Retd.), CEO of R&G Consulting, former Executive Chairman of BEPZA, and former Lecturer at BRAC University, shared:
