Glimpses of talent despite adversity

The Cosmopolitan Rotary Club has stood by the talented students of small ethnic groups, children of farmers and working class families. They are Simati Murmu of Chapainawabganj, Jonik Mia of Sunamganj, Ishita Khatun of Faridpur and Barsha Rani of Lalmonirhat, who have obtained GPA-5 in SSC. They have shown a glimpse of indomitable talent even amidst adversity. The Rotary Club of Dhaka Cosmopolitan has provided special assistance to these poor yet talented students. On Sunday, at a function in Dhaka, Dhaka Community Medical College Principal Dr. Monirul Alam, Club President Dr. Omar Sharif, Industrialist Abdus Sattar Maruf and prominent businessman Syed Saiful Haque Mintu handed over the financial assistance and educational materials to them, a press release said.
