With the theme “Shaping a Sustainable Future Together,” the landmark event drew over 50+ brands and more than 500 guests, partners, industry leaders, and sustainability practitioners from across Bangladesh and abroad, a press release said.

The conference highlighted Control Union’s continued commitment to advancing responsible business practices across supply chains. Regional and local Control Union textiles experts were present to share emerging trends in global sustainability, offering insights on how businesses can collaborate with Control Union to accelerate their transition toward more sustainable and resilient operations.

A special session spotlighted several trailblazers—some of the first entities in Bangladesh to achieve certification under leading global standards, including Global G.A.P., OBP (Ocean Bound Plastic), Nativa, and USDA-NOP. Their achievements demonstrated Bangladesh’s growing leadership in areas such as regenerative agriculture, responsible sourcing, organic production, and plastic recovery.

Prominent voices from across the sustainability ecosystem joined the event, including representatives from Better Cotton Initiative and Regenagri. Their shared perspectives reflected a unified message: the world is changing rapidly, and businesses must innovate, adapt, and invest in solutions that reduce environmental impact while strengthening long-term competitiveness.

Headline Speaker Inamul Khan, Acting president, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) says; International buyers are now prioritizing factories to expand their use of renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions, and modernize production systems. However, implementing these transformations requires significant investment, which is still a major challenge for many factories due to high interest rates and limitations in long-term green financing.
