HSBC reveals 2025 export award winners

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in Bangladesh announced  the winners of the ‘HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025’. Four Bangladeshi businesses have been recognised and honoured as ‘Exporter of the year’ for their leadership and continuous contribution in promoting Bangladesh in the global stage and enabling sustainable growth of the country, a press release said.

The HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025 was assisted by programme partners: Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and The British High Commission Dhaka. Technical partner, KPMG Advisory Services Limited was engaged for auditing purposes. This year’s winners are selected based on aspects such as, annual contribution to the national exports and economy, diversity, responsibility, sustainable business practices, governance strengths, regulatory compliance etc.

The winners of the ‘HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025’ are: Export Excellence: Ready-made Garments Export Revenue of USD 100 Million and Above Flamingo Fashions Limited

Award received by: Names to be added Flamingo Fashions is a highly export-driven, vertically integrated apparel manufacturer, combining spinning, knitting, dyeing, printing, recycling, and garmenting to supply major global brands across 50 countries. With 118 production lines, 2,870 machines, and 60% raw-material self-sufficiency, it delivers 44 million pieces annually, supporting strong reliability and competitive lead times. With its digital product development ecosystem and advanced machinery, backed by robust sustainability initiatives including, GRS-certified recycling, renewable energy use, water-efficient dyeing, and IFC-aligned governance, Flamingo Fashions continues to strengthen its global presence and export excellence.

Export Excellence: Ready-made Garments Backward Linkage Export Revenue of USD 50 Million and Above NZ Tex Group

Award received by: Names to be added NZ Tex Group provides strong backward linkage to the RMG sector through its vertically integrated spinning, woven, denim, and linen operations, ensuring reliable supply of high-quality yarns and fabrics for global apparel brands. With advanced machinery, an annual output of 52,000 tons of yarn, and about 550 looms, it delivers consistent, premium materials essential for export-oriented garment manufacturing. Its sustainability credentials : GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GRS, ZDHC Level 3 and renewable energy and water-saving initiatives reinforce its role as a responsible supplier. Supported by efficient process control and resilient supply-chain management, NZ Tex Group remains a dependable and  backward-linkage partner to the RMG industry. Export Excellence: Non-traditional and Emerging Sectors Manufacturing Export Revenue of USD 10 Million and Above Janata Jute Mills Limited and Sadat Jute Industries Limited

Award received by: Names to be added Janata Jute Mills Limited and Sadat Jute Industries Limited stands out as a non-traditional and emerging force in Bangladesh’s manufacturing sector, transforming jute from a conventional commodity into a platform for high-value, diversified products. Beyond classic hessian and sacking, the company has expanded into technical textiles, geo-textiles, non-woven felt, retail accessories, and sustainable packaging, positioning itself as a modern, innovation-driven manufacturer. With advanced automation, circular-economy practices, and strong export momentum across nearly 90 countries, Janata demonstrates how a heritage industry can evolve into a globally competitive, future-ready manufacturing segment. Its integration of renewable energy, resource-efficient operations, and skilled workforce development further reinforces its role as a progressive, emerging leader in the manufacturing landscape.

Export Excellence: Non-traditional and Emerging Sectors – Service Export Revenue of USD 5 Million and Above Ulkasemi PVT. Limited

services, delivering world-class semiconductor design from its major engineering center in Dhaka. As a

TSMC Design Center Alliance partner one of only 29 globally, it provides advanced design, verification, custom layouts, and post-silicon services for top-tier clients across the USA, China, Taiwan, and India. Its strong talent pipeline, industry-academia programs, and investments in low-power, energy-efficient chip design position the company at the forefront of Bangladesh’s move into cutting edge technology services.

The event was attended by Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Honourable Adviser, Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as our Chief Guest; H.E. Sarah Cooke, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh as our Special Guest;  Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Honourable Governor, Bangladesh Bank as Guest of Honour; Md Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bangladesh, award winners, valuable customers, regulators, media and key stakeholders. The event also featured a session on ‘Sustaining High Performance’ by Jake Lovelock, Performance and Wellbeing Psychologist, Cognacity.
