He made these remarks at a workshop titled ‘Planning for Nation Building’ organized by BNP at the Krishibid Institute auditorium in Farmgate on Thursday morning.
He said, “The day our leader comes, the day he sets foot in Bangladesh, the whole of Bangladesh should tremble. You have to remember this… Can you? On that day, we want to change the face of the whole of Bangladesh.”
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We want to move forward, we want to move towards progress. We want to move forward to implement the thoughts of our leader to establish Bangladesh in a position of dignity.”

He said, “Now the struggle and fight is our struggle to win this election. We have to win this election completely, so that we get the opportunity to take Bangladesh forward. There will be many obstacles, many dangers, there will be a lot of propaganda against us, and there will be. But we want to overcome all this and stand with our heads held high. BNP has never been defeated, and will never be defeated.”
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We want to say one thing very clearly, 1971 is our existence… Remember this very loudly. Today I saw in the newspaper that the generation of 1971 is the worst generation. How dare they say this? Do they show arrogance?”
He said, “Today, our Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Sahib has said here that is there a black paw coming out from behind through the darkness? Is another fascism trying to oppress us from the other side? Are they trying to mislead the people of Bangladesh by misleading people and unfortunately using our beloved religion? We have to stand against that force.”
He further said, “The discussions that will be held here today will not just be about listening and taking notes. They have to be presented to the people… that we want to do these things. If you do this, then surely the people will be attracted to you; you have to win over the people.”
At this time, the BNP Secretary General sought prayers for the speedy recovery of party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the party, convener of the implementation committee of the program titled ‘Plan for Nation Building’, and moderated by Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel. Tarique Rahman will speak as the chief guest at the same program in the afternoon.
