38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bangladesh Insurance Association was held on Monday, the 22nd December, 2025 in Samson H. Chowdhury Centre, Dhaka Club Limited, a press release said.
The meeting was presided over by Adeeba Rahman, First Vice-President, Bangladesh Insurance Association. Quazi Sakhawat Hossain (Lintoo), Vice-President, Members of the Executive Committee, Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Director & CEO of Life & Non-Life Insurance was present on the occasion.
Specially Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman, Eastland Insurance & President, ICC-Bangladesh, Mir Nasir Hossain, former President, FBCCI and Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel), former President, Bangladesh Insurance Association were present on the Annual General Meeting.
In the Annual Report, it was stated that the total premium of private sector life insurance companies were from Tk. 115,107 million in 2023 to Tk. 113,897 million in 2024, first year premium Tk. 32,081 million in 2023 to Tk. 28,858 million in 2024, renewal premium Tk. 72,880 million in 2023 to Tk. 73,726 million in 2024, life fund Tk. 319,182 million in 2023 to Tk.332,322 million in 2024, total investment Tk. 334,613 million in 2023 to Tk.342,929 million in 2024 and total asset Tk.116,474 million in 2023 to Tk. 119,167 million in 2024.
The gross premium of non-life private sector insurance companies were Tk. 42,351 million in 2023 to Tk.43,495 million in 2024, total investment Tk.57,720 million in 2023 to Tk. 56,140 million in 2024 and total asset Tk.116,474 million in 2023 to Tk. 119,167 million in 2024.
Representatives of the insurance companies discussed on the Annual Report 2024 as well as highlighted some of the activities of the Association in the meeting. The following issues have been approved in the meeting with consensus- (1)Approval of the Annual Report-2024; (2) Approval of Audit Report-2024; (3)To appoint the auditors for the year 2025 and to fix their remuneration;
