The biggest event in the housing sector, Rehab Fair 2025, has begun. RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riazul Islam inaugurated this year’s Rehab Fair 2025 as the chief guest at the China Friendship Conference Center, Agargaon, Dhaka on Wednesday. National Housing Authority (NHA) Chairman Md. Ferdousi Begum was present as a special guest. The 4-day fair will continue until December 27. There will be 220 stalls in this year’s fair. In addition to real estate organizations, REHAB has provided an opportunity for building materials and financial investment institutions to participate, a press release said.
At the inauguration ceremony, the RAJUK Chairman said that entrepreneurs and builders involved in building construction play an important role in building a world. He said that although various professional organizations are involved in the housing sector, in reality the main responsibility for building construction lies with the entrepreneurs and builders.
The RAJUK chairman said, “If a plot owner were asked to build a house with his own money today, how many buildings would have been built in Dhaka city is a matter of concern. Noting that the housing sector has gone through various ups and downs over the years, he said, although there is a slight recession at present, it is not permanent, good times will definitely return.
Expressing the prevailing misconceptions about developers, Riazul Islam said, “Many people think that developers only think about their own business. I firmly believe that this idea is not correct. There may be a few exceptions, but everyone wants a beautiful, planned and well-developed city.”
As a special guest, National Housing Authority (NHA) Chairman Md. Ferdousi Begum spoke about building buildings according to the rules.
REHAB President Md. Wahiduzzaman presided over the inaugural ceremony. He felt that this fair would play an important role in building bridges between members and buyers. REHAB President said, “With economic progress, people’s interest in living in a beautiful flat in a good place is increasing. We are working to fulfill the dreams of citizens.
REHAB Senior Vice President Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan highlighted the various contributions of the housing sector and said that in the current context, it is almost impossible for a citizen to purchase a flat or plot without a housing loan. He said that arrangements should be made so that buyers can get this loan very easily. The contribution of housing loans in building planned and modern housing is undeniable.
REHAB Director and Co-Chairman of the Fair Committee Miraj Moktadir delivered the welcome speech at the event. REHAB Vice President-1 Lion M.A. Awal (former MP), REHAB Vice President-2 and Chairman of ReHAB Fair Committee Mohammad Akhter Biswas, Vice President-3 Eng. Abdul Latif, Vice President (Finance) Abdur Razzak, Vice President Haji Delwar Hossain, REHAB Director and Co-Chairman of Fair Standing Committee Suruj Sardar, REHAB Director and Chairman of Press and Media Standing Committee Muhammad Labib Billah, REHAB directors and other leaders were present at the event.
Buyers and visitors can enter the fair from 10 am to 9 pm every day. There are two types of tickets for the fair. One is single entry and the other is multiple entry. The entry fee for a single ticket is 50 taka. And the entry fee for a multiple entry ticket is 100 taka. With a multiple entry ticket, a visitor can enter 5 times during the fair. All proceeds from entry tickets will be used to help those in need. Raffle draws will be held daily this year.
