The TMSS Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant Central Inaugural & Scientific Program was successfully held on December 24–25, 2025, at the Momo Inn Auditorium, Bogura, marking a major milestone in the journey toward building Bangladesh’s One of the largest comprehensive cancer center outside Dhaka. This facility stands as the second of its kind in the country after Dhaka and the largest in North Bengal, a press release said.
Through this initiative, TMSS formally inaugurated its advanced cancer center, including hematology and bone marrow transplant services at significantly reduced costs, aiming to make critical cancer care more accessible to patients across North Bengal and beyond. The center plays a pivotal role in reducing the burden on Dhaka-based medical facilities and ensuring timely, affordable treatment for patients in the region.
The inauguration ceremony took place with the presence of eminent leaders and healthcare professionals. Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, Executive Director, TMSS; Rtn. Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Deputy Executive Director, TMSS; and Dr. Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh, Chief Consultant, TMSS, alongside other renowned hematology specialists.
Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, Executive Director, TMSS, said “By establishing this center in Bogura, we are ensuring that patients in North Bengal can access world-class cancer and transplant services at an affordable cost.”

The event continued with a comprehensive Scientific Program, featuring expert discussions, presentations and knowledge-sharing sessions led by leading hematologists and medical professionals. The scientific sessions focused on recent advancements, best practices and future directions in hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplantation in Bangladesh.
