Two more matches of women’s hockey held

DHAKA : Two more matches of the Aparajeyo Alo Women’s Hockey tournament were decided held at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city today (Tuesday).

On the day’s first match, Zome-one (Rajshahi-Rangpur) edged past zone-four (Chattogram and Sylhet) by a solitary goal with Rani Akter of the winning side scored the all-important got converting a penalty corner. She was later named the player of the match for her impressive performance.

In the day’s second match, zone-five Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) thrashed zone-two (Dhaka and Mymensingh) by 12-0 goals.

In the proceeding, Riyasha Akter Rishi of BKSP was named the player of the match for her impressive performance.
Earlier, before the match, one minute silence was observed over the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister and chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Meanwhile, the final of the competition will be held on Thursday (Jan 1) instead of tomorrow (Wednesday) as scheduled earlier.

BKSP will take on zone-two (Dhaka-Mymensingh) in the final match that begins at 2 pm at the same venue.
