North South University (NSU) hosted a high-level delegation from the University of Regina (UR), Canada, on January 27, 2026, marking a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral academic collaboration between the two institutions, a press release said.
The delegation from the University of Regina was led by Dr. Jeff Keshen, President and Vice-Chancellor, and included Haroon Chaudhry, Associate Vice-President (International) and Chief International Officer, and Dr. Muhammad Asadullah, Associate Professor, Department of Justice Studies, Faculty of Arts.
The meeting took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room and was attended by senior leadership and academic heads of North South University, led by Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, and Professor Nasar U Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor. Treasurer, deans of all schools, directors of External Affairs and Research, Registrar, and senior officials from the university were also present.
During the meeting, both universities formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Student Exchange Program Agreement (SEPA), laying the foundation for enhanced cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, academic collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
In his remarks, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury highlighted NSU’s commitment to internationalization and expressed optimism that the partnership with the University of Regina would open new academic and research opportunities for students and faculty of both institutions.
Dr. Jeff Keshen echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of global partnerships in addressing shared academic and societal challenges.
Following the signing ceremony and official photographs, the visiting delegation engaged in an interactive discussion with NSU’s Vice-Chancellor, Deans, Chairs, and senior academic and administrative leaders. The discussion focused on prospective collaboration opportunities, including joint programs, research partnerships, and mobility initiatives.
This partnership represents NSU’s continued efforts to expand its global footprint and provide its students with enriched international academic exposure.
