North South University’s (NSU) Department of Marketing and International Business at North South University hosted the launch ceremony of the first-ever annual magazine of the department at the NSU Syndicate Hall last week, a press release said.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of NSU; Professor Nasar U. Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NSU; Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU; and Professor AKM Waresul Karim, Dean of the School of Business & Economics of NSU. Dr. Md. Tamhid Ul Islam, Assistant Professor of NSU, chaired the event.
Ishrat Jahan Synthia, senior lecturer of the department and one of the authors of the magazine, delivered the welcome note and presented key activities and successes of the DMIB throughout the year. It included the overview of the student-faculty training sessions, seminars, career counselling sessions, faculty promotions, and collaborations with internship programs.
One of the authors of the magazine and an alumnus of the university, Talal Reza Chowdhury, Director and Head of Strategy & Analytics at Grameenphone, shared his theories on growth and exposure in the telecom industry during his speech at the event.
Following his note, Mirza Ferdous Ohid, Founder and CEO of HawkEyes Digital Monitoring Limited, another alumnus of the university and the author of the magazine, stated that he had incorporated artificial intelligence into his business.
Respected faculties and students with success stories- Shahneela Naheed, Senior Lecturer of NSU, Dr. Muhammad Sabbir Rahman, Professor of NSU, Wasif Islam Saad, HM Mohaimin Monir, and Mahiat Shan- who were authors of the magazine, were also speakers of the event. During their speech, they presented their invaluable insights and stories that were published in the magazine.
The proceedings wrapped up with the remarks of Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of North South University, where he expressed commendation for the organizers, authors, and faculty members of the department, and handed over crests to the honorable authors of the magazine.
