North South University’s (NSU) Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Bangladesh Specialized Hospital (BSH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday, February 8, 2026, to strengthen collaboration between academic education and clinical practice at the hospital, a press release said.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at 11:00 AM in the VC Conference Room at North South University, in the presence of distinguished university officials, healthcare professionals, faculty members, and guests.
The event was graced by Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of North South University; Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU; and Dr. Ahmed Zahid Hossain, Managing Director of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. Dean of the School of Health & Life Sciences, Professor Dr. Dipak Kumar Mitra, and the Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Hossain Shariare, were also present.
This strategic partnership aims to promote academic excellence, research collaboration, clinical exposure, and professional development opportunities for students and faculty members of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly engage in hospital internships, research initiatives, training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities to bridge academic learning with real-world clinical experience.
Speaking at the ceremony, the distinguished guests emphasized the importance of strong academic and hospital partnerships in advancing healthcare education, improving patient care, and fostering innovation in pharmaceutical sciences.
The MoU reflects a shared commitment by North South University and Bangladesh Specialized Hospital to develop skilled healthcare professionals and enhance the overall healthcare system in Bangladesh through education, research, and clinical collaboration.
