NSU hosts president, vice-chancellor of Algoma University, Canada

North South University (NSU) hosts Professor Sheila Embleton, President and Vice-Chancellor of Algoma University, Canada, during her official visit to the university on Monday, February 09, 2026, a press release said.

The visit marked a significant milestone in strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions. A formal meeting was held between the senior leadership of North South University and Professor Embleton, followed by the signing ceremony for the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between North South University and Algoma University.

The event was attended by Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, along with Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU; Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU, and senior academic and administrative heads of the university. The discussions focused on expanding existing partnerships and exploring new avenues of cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchange, joint research initiatives, and academic collaboration.

The renewal of the MoU reaffirms the shared commitment of both universities to fostering international academic engagement and promoting excellence in higher education.
