Nagad, one of the country’s leading mobile financial service providers, has launched a Holy Quran recitation competition for the children of its over three lakh Uddoktas (agents) nationwide. The competition titled “Shontan-er Konthe Quran Tilawat,” is mainly being conducted by Nagad Islamic. The event is already open for participation, a press release said.
The competition aims to spread the glory of the holy Ramadan among children and encourage the new generation to embrace religious and moral values.
The competition is structured into three age-based categories: Group A (3 to 6 years), Group B (6+ to 11 years), and Group C (11+ to 16 years). According to the rules, Uddoktas must record a 1-to-2-minute smartphone video of their child’s Holy Quran recitation and upload it to the designated Google Form links along with the required information.
This simple process allows the children of Uddoktas from all 10 regions in the country, formed for operational convenience, to participate from their respective locations. Since the competition opened on February 5, more than 3,000 children have already confirmed their participation, and the number of registrations is increasing daily.
The submitted video recordings will be evaluated under the supervision of the Nagad Islamic Shariah Supervisory Committee. In the first stage, 90 performers will be selected (3 from each age group per region). From these, only the first-place holders – a total of 30 contestants – will advance to the Grand Finale at Nagad’s Head Office in Dhaka. The 60 participants who secure second and third positions will receive certificates.
In the final round, nine national winners – first, second, and third from each category – will be selected. Nagad Islamic will award these winners attractive cash prizes, crests, and certificates. Finalists and one guardian each will be invited to attend the closing ceremony.
Regarding the initiative, Professor Dr. HM Shahidul Islam Barakati, chairman of the Nagad Islamic Shariah Supervisory Committee, said,“Following the previous success, we have launched this initiative again for our Uddoktas’ children. I believe this competition will help children learn to recite the Quran correctly and will also foster an interest in good deeds from a young age and inspire them to grow as disciplined and moral individuals. Nagad Islamic organises this event primarily as a source of inspiration for building an ideal life.”
Nagad previously organised the “Shontan-er Konthe Quran Tilawat” competition for Uddoktas’ children, which received a highly positive response.
