Ulkasemi, the pioneer of Bangladesh’s semiconductor design industry, proudly celebrated its 19th anniversary Wednesday, February 18, 2026, marking nearly two decades of innovation and global excellence. During the celebration, the company wined major operational milestones, including over 1,000 successful tapouts and the expansion of its workforce to more than 600 professional engineers, a press release said.
Since its inception, Ulkasemi has been at the forefront of the country’s high-tech sector. The company is now enabling advanced semiconductor nodes ranging from 180nm to 1.4nm, positioning Bangladesh as a key player in the global deep-tech landscape.
To mark this significant milestone, Ulkasemi organized simultaneous celebrations at its Dhaka Design Centers located at Rahman’s Regnum Center and the Trade Intercontinental Centre (TIC). The event brought together a distinguished gathering of guests. Among them were Dr. Arifa Chowdhury Rahman, Chairperson of Ulkasemi, VP of Engineering, Directors and all employees.
The events were inaugurated by Mohammed Enayetur Rahman, CEO and President of Ulkasemi.
Speaking at the event, Rahman emphasized the critical role of adaptation in the era of Artificial Intelligence.
“The world is reshuffling its supply chains. They are looking for a “Plus One” destination. The window is open, but as we know from the semiconductor industry, windows close in nanoseconds,” said Mohammed Enayetur Rahman.
Powering the Global Future Ulkasemi’s 19-year journey is defined by its commitment to quality in developing next-generation products for top global clients. The company’s engineers are currently designing chips for AI-assisted high-end CPUs and GPUs, Mobile devices and IoT applications, Data servers, Cloud servers, and Networking equipment, Complex routers, switches, and medical devices. Notably, Ulkasemi is one of only 32 global partners of the prestigious TSMC Design Center Alliance (DCA), a distinction that validates Bangladesh’s engineering quality on the world stage.
With ongoing investments in engineering capacity and talent development, Ulkasemi aims to accelerate the country’s journey toward building a multi-billion dollars semiconductor sector, moving Bangladesh beyond traditional exports and into the high-value deep tech economy.
