Nationalist ICT Forum pays tribute to Shaheed Zia, Khaleda Zia

On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, members of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist ICT Forum paid tribute to the tombs of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. At this time, they paid their deepest respects by placing wreaths. Later, special prayers and Fatiha were recited to pray for the eternal peace of Shaheed Zia and Begum Khaleda Zia. On the same morning, on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, the Forum placed wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to all language soldiers and martyrs, a press release said.

This is the first time that the founder and ideological leadership of the Nationalist ICT Forum was formally paid homage after it was formed by nationalist individuals working and entrepreneurs in the telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT) sector. Earlier on the same day, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the forum’s chief advisor and BNP’s information and technology affairs secretary AKM Wahiduzzaman. The meeting was moderated by Nationalist ICT Forum President Engineer Raphael Kabir. Important decisions were taken on the organizational structure, work plan and future programs of the forum.

Forum President Engineer Raphael Kabir, General Secretary Rawshan Kamal James, Advisor Faisal Alim, the editorial board and other members of the central committee were present during the tribute at the tomb.

Forum President Engineer Raphael Kabir said, “The foundation laid by Martyr President Ziaur Rahman for the post-independence reconstruction of Bangladesh, the establishment of multi-party democracy and the construction of a modern technology-based state is still a source of inspiration for us. We have united to organize nationalist forces in the ICT sector by embracing his ideals.”

General Secretary Rawshan Kamal James said, “To take the domestic technology sector to a self-reliant and world-class level, a combination of ideological leadership, skilled human resources and innovative initiatives is essential. The Nationalist ICT Forum will work towards that goal. We are determined to strengthen and organize the technology sector to implement the ideals of Shaheed Zia and National Leader Begum Khaleda Zia.”

Through this tribute program, the Nationalist ICT Forum reaffirmed its ideological commitment and expressed its determination to play an organized and effective role in the technology sector.
