Youth-centric brand of Robi Axiata PLC, Airtel has taken a refreshing approach to this Eid by releasing a story-driven short film instead of a conventional commercial. Titled ‘Home Not Coming’, the film draws inspiration from everyday emotions and experiences, offering viewers a heartfelt narrative rather than promotional flash. The short film is now available on Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, already receiving an enthusiastic response from audiences, a press release said.

Eid traditionally signals a nationwide journey back to one’s village home. But for today’s generation, is “home” a physical destination—or an emotional anchor? This very question forms the core of Home Not Coming.

The film stars popular young actor Miraj Hasan Raihan in the lead role, supported by an ensemble cast including Arpita Pal, Mahadi Rahman, Hridmila Rahman, Mashiyur Siam, Mainul Islam Shuvo, Mohiuddin Saifullah Shuvro, among others. Beyond family dynamics, the story also explores the deep bonds and shared memories within a close-knit group of friends.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jahid Preetom, the short film blends nostalgia, youthfulness, and emotional realism. Reflecting on the experience, Preetom said: “Working on this Eid short film was both challenging and immensely enjoyable. At times, it felt as though we were reliving our own youthful friendships. The cast developed genuine bonds on set, which made many scenes feel less like performances and more like real moments caught on camera. Capturing that authenticity within a short span was not easy, but the team’s sincerity made the journey much smoother.”
