Bannya Khatun from Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur has become the first winner of mobile financial service Nagad’s “Har Na Mana Har” campaign, launched to encourage expatriate Bangladeshis to send their hard-earned remittances to the country through legal channels. She won the prize after receiving remittance from her Dubai-based husband, Md. Farid, through Nagad, a press release said.
Recently, popular actress Mumtahina Chowdhury Toya visited Bannya Khatun’s residence in Madhukhali, Faridpur, and handed over the gold necklace as the prize. Representatives of Nagad were also present at the event.
After receiving the gold necklace, the excited family members connected with Dubai-based Farid through a video call. He also spoke with actress Toya during the call. Farid said, “I knew that Nagad was running such a campaign. But I never imagined that the gold necklace would come to my own home. I regularly send remittances to my family from Dubai through Nagad, but receiving such a big gift was beyond my expectations.”
Nagad has been working to ensure that remittances sent by expatriates reach their loved ones’ mobile phones in the country quickly and safely. To create additional joy for expatriate families ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, Nagad launched this campaign titled ‘Har Na Mana Har’. Under the campaign, expatriates who send a minimum of Tk 10,000 in remittance to Bangladesh through Nagad become eligible for a chance to win a gold necklace for their loved ones back home.
Speaking about the campaign, Nagad’s Chief Marketing Officer, Symon Imran Hyder said, “Expatriate Bangladeshis always stand by their families by sending their hard-earned money back home, which is also extremely important for our economy. The amount of remittance usually increases ahead of Eid. We launched the ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign to make this entire moment even more joyful. If sending remittance through Nagad also brings the chance to win a gold necklace, it will become a special moment in the lives of both the expatriate and their family members.”
