North South University (NSU) organized a Doa and Remembrance gathering today, 01 April 2026 (Wednesday), at Audi-801 in memory of Md. Roman, Office Support Staff (OSS) of the NSU-UWA Agribusiness Centre of Excellence (ACE), tragically passed away in a road accident at Zirabo Bazar on March 27, 2026, a press release said.
During the event, prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Faculty members, officials, staff, and well-wishers of the university joined in prayer, seeking Almighty Allah’s mercy and praying that he be granted Jannah and that his family receives strength and patience in this difficult time. Md. Jahangir, father of the deceased, was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said, “Md. Roman was a sincere and dedicated member of our university family. His untimely passing is deeply painful for all of us, and we pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal peace and gives strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss.”
Professor Nazrul Islam, the direct supervisor of Md. Roman and Director of NSU-UWA Agribusiness Centre of Excellence, remarked, “Roman was extremely hardworking, reliable, and committed in performing his duties at the Centre. Those of us who worked closely with him will deeply feel his absence.”
At the program, NSU’s Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed and Treasurer Professor Abdur Rab Khan also expressed prayers for Md. Roman’s soul and affirmed the university administration’s support for his family.
Memories of Md. Roman was shared by NSU Office Assistant Mr. Noyon Gazi on behalf of the family. Additionally, tributes were offered by Professor Gour Gobinda Goswami of NSU’s School of Business and Economics, and Rifa Sanjida, Research Assistant at NSU-UWA Agribusiness Centre of Excellence.
