AI revolution became key for Sylhet women’s grassroots entrepreneurship

Imagine a grassroots woman entrepreneur in Sylhet drafting a flawless business plan from home, responding to customer queries in seconds, and designing world-class marketing strategies—all made effortless by a tiny piece of technology. What sounds like a fairy tale is now becoming a reality for the women entrepreneurs of Sylhet through the magic of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a press release said.

In this golden age of information technology, modernizing business is no longer a luxury but a necessity for survival. To spread this mission, a unique ICT seminar titled “Business Development Strategy through AI in Bangladesh” was held last Saturday at Hotel Nirvana Inn, Mirza Jangal, Sylhet. The event was organized by the pioneering organization for women’s empowerment, Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs Society (GRASSROOTS).

The highlight of the event was the session conducted by the Keynote Speaker, Partha Protim Roy. In his address, he demonstrated how AI technology can empower small-scale entrepreneurs to remain competitive in the global market despite limited capital. He provided practical insights into using AI for marketing strategies, automated customer service, and business analytics. His presentation emphasized the vital role of enhancing the technical capabilities of women entrepreneurs to build a ‘Smart Bangladesh.’

Starting at 3:00 PM, the seminar drew 68 resilient women entrepreneurs eager to embrace new technologies. Joining the discussion as Co-speakers were Kumar Nitol and Rubya Mehzabeen Paula, who shared further insights into the digital landscape. Additionally, Himangshu Mitra, CEO of Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs Society, spoke about the organization’s future plans to integrate technology at the root level.

The seminar was presided over by Anita Dasgupta, National Coordinator of Grassroots, and was skillfully moderated by Nafisa Shabnam, General Secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan. Inspired by the guidance of Partha Protim Roy, the participating entrepreneurs expressed their firm commitment to integrating AI into their business ventures.
