SEB launches VISA student card campaign at Canadian University

Southeast Bank PLC. has inaugurated an exclusive VISA Branded Student Credit Card and Prepaid Card Sales Campaign at the Canadian University of Bangladesh to expand access to digital financial services among students, faculty, and staff. The programme was inaugurated at the university’s Merul Badda campus in Dhaka in the presence of Professor Dr. H. M. Jahirul Haque, Vice-Chancellor of Canadian University, and Md. Mahbub Alam, Additional Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, a press release said.

Under the campaign, faculty members and employees will enjoy lifetime annual fee waivers on credit cards, while students will receive first-year annual fee waivers on both credit and prepaid cards. In addition, students will get Tk.100 cashback on their first prepaid card transaction and a waiver of SMS charges for the first year.

The cards are designed to facilitate domestic and international transactions, including tuition payments and foreign university application fees, making financial services more accessible and convenient for students. The on-campus campaign at Canadian University will continue from April 5 to April 9, 2026.

The launch event was attended by several senior officials from both institutions. Distinguished attendees included A. S. M. G. Faruk, Registrar (In-Charge), Dr. Md . Moniruzzaman Khan, Director MBA & EMBA and Kazi Sabbir Hossain, Deputy Director HR & Operations of Canadian University. From Southeast Bank PLC., key participants were Abdus Sabur Khan, Senior Executive Vice President & Head of Cards; Md. Zahirul Haque, Executive Vice President & Head of Gulshan Branch; Kazi Saiful Islam, Vice President of Card Division was also in attendance.

The campaign reflects a strong collaboration between Southeast Bank PLC. and Canadian University, aimed at expanding access to secure, convenient, and digital financial solutions for the academic community.
