OMODA has successfully concluded a cross-country endurance test of its flagship OMODA 9 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), proving that high-end luxury can coexist with extreme fuel efficiency, a press release said.

In a real-world test conducted on Bangladeshi roads, the OMODA 9 Plug-in Hybrid outperformed its official 1,200km claim by reaching a total distance of 1,255km on a single full tank (65 liters) and one full battery charge. This brings the vehicle’s running cost down to a remarkable Tk5-6 per kilometer, a breakthrough for a premium SUV of its class.

The test route was designed to simulate diverse driving conditions, starting from the OMODA Service Center in Tejgaon, Dhaka, and traveling through Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar to reach Teknaf. The return journey included a crossing of the Padma Bridge at Mawa.

“The OMODA 9 Plug-in Hybrid’s Super Hybrid System (SHS) allows it to optimize power between its 1.5T engine and triple electric motors,” said Josh Timothy, Sr. Executive OMODA JAECOO Sales, and Mustavi Admin of Cars & Conversation. “With a proven 1,255 km range in real-world local and highway conditions, this is the ultimate high-endurance solution for Bangladesh. It provides a seamless long-distance travel experience, effectively neutralizing ‘range anxiety’ and the need for frequent infrastructure stops.”
