BCS organizes training workshop on laptop motherboard repair level-2

To provide skill-based employment opportunities to promising youth, an eight-day training workshop on Laptop Motherboard Repair and Servicing Level-2 titled “Hands-on Workshop on Computer Hardware Servicing to Generate Skill-Based Employment Opportunities” was held from April 4-12 under the joint initiative of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and Business Promotion Council (BPC), a press release said.

The closing ceremony of the training workshop was held at the BCS Innovation Center on the evening of April 12 (Sunday).

Dr. Md. Razzaqul Islam, Director of the Business Promotion Council (BPC) and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, spoke as the chief guest at the event.

In the speech of the chief guest, Dr. Md. Razzaqul Islam said, currently the importance of the hardware sector is increasing a lot in the world including Bangladesh. With the unprecedented development of information technology in the changing times, the demand for computer and laptop motherboard servicing is also increasing in the country and the world. Therefore, there is a bright prospect of a career in this sector. The market of this sector in the world is about 5 trillion dollars. Most of our country is the young generation. We have a lot of potential. But despite that potential, it is often not possible to make the expected contribution to the national economy.

He told the trainees, “Prepare yourself in such a way that you can become entrepreneurs by utilizing your qualifications, skills and endless potential. By working on your skills, you can provide employment to five more unemployed youth.” He urged the trainees to become job creators on their own initiative rather than chasing jobs.

Dr. Md. Razzaqul Islam further said that BCS and BPC have been jointly conducting this training workshop for a long time. BPC plans to organize more advanced level training on laptop motherboard repair and servicing in the future.

Also speaking at the event were BPC Assistant Director Md. Faisal Khan, BCS Joint Secretary General Ahsanul Islam Nowshad, Treasurer Abul Hasan, Director Md. Iqbal Hossain, Course Coordinator and Director of Computer City Technology Monirul Haque Babu. Training workshop instructor Md. Yunuz Khan, Computer City Technology Service Engineer Shahriar Irad and Jastech Solutions CEO Abu Tuhin Chowdhury.

In this 8-day training workshop, the best trainee was Amena Akhter Asma, second was Md. Masud Rana, and third was Md. Shariul Islam Sagar. BPC Director and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Dr. Md. Razzaqul Islam, Assistant Director Md. Faisal Khan, and BCS leaders handed over course certificates along with prizes to the winners.

A total of 25 trainees participated in this workshop.
