Islami Bank wins gold award for remittance service

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC received the ‘Gold Award’ presented by the Centre for Non Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) for its outstanding contribution to remittance services. Zahir Uddin Swapon, MP, Minister, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting handed over the award to Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Director and Md Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Managing Director of the bank at the ‘Branding Bangladesh’ event organized by Centre for NRB at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on April 12, 2026. M S Shekil Chowdhury, Chairperson of Centre for NRB presided over the program while Shama Obaed Islam, MP, State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Md. Nurul Haque, MP, State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment attended the program as special guests. Major General (Retd.) Fazle Elahi Akbar, Chairman of the Foundation for Strategic and Development Studies, along with senior executives from various organizations, was also present on the occasion, a press release said.
