Travel Writers Awards Ceremony on May 9

To celebrate the excellence of travel literature and creative writing, the ‘Awards for Travel and Creative Excellence 2025’ is going to be held on Saturday, May 9. This special event organized by the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association (BTWA) will become a unique gathering of the country’s travel writers, photographers and creative content creators, the organizers hope.
The event will start at 4 pm at the auditorium of the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra located at Bangla Motor, Dhaka. Awards will be given in recognition of significant contributions in various fields of travel and creativity until 2025. The award categories are—Travel Literature, Travel Photography, Adventure Writing, Travel Magazine (Bhraman Bichitra), Travel-Related Design and Travel-Related Digital Content Creation.
The program will feature selected travelogue readings, a reception for awardees, and lively discussions with renowned travel writers and photographers. The chief guest will be Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Jalal Uddin. Special guests will be Ahsan Habib, editor of cartoon magazine ‘Unmad’, AHM Shafiquzzaman, president of Consumer Rights Association, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, managing director and additional secretary of Bangladesh Service Limited, and writer-journalist Rajib Noor. Incidentally, the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association is a non-profit organization that is working to enrich the country’s travel literature and unite creative writers on a strong platform.
