In a special anti-drug operation in Bayezid Bostami Police Station area of Chittagong city, RAB-7, Chittagong, has arrested 02 professional drug dealers along with recovering 1970 pieces of Yaba tablets. RAB has said that the estimated value of the recovered Yaba is around 6 lakh taka.
According to RAB sources, based on secret information, RAB-7 came to know that some drug dealers were staying at the Oxygen Mor area under Bayezid Bostami Police Station in Chittagong city with a large quantity of Yaba for sale. Based on this information, on May 06, 2026, at approximately 12:55 pm, an operation team of RAB-7, Chittagong conducted an operation on the paved road in front of the Oxygen Traffic Police Box.
Sensing the presence of RAB, when a woman and a man tried to escape, the operation team was able to arrest them. The arrested are Aryan Rahman (25), father of the deceased Ibrahim Prakash Manu Mistry, and Nurangis Prakash Noor Ayesha (45), husband of the deceased Ibrahim Prakash Manu Mistry. Their home is in the Chairmanghata area of Sadar Police Station, Cox’s Bazar district.
Later, a search was conducted on the shoulder bag of the arrested Aryan Rahman and a total of 1970 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from 10 specially kept blue polyzipper packets. The recovered Yaba was later seized.
RAB further said that the arrested accused and the recovered narcotics have been handed over to Bayezid Bostami Police Station for further legal action.
A press release signed by RAB-7, Chittagong Assistant Director (Media) and Assistant Superintendent of Police A.R.M. Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the matter in this regard.
