The ‘Award for Development of Creativity in Travel 2025’ was presented today at a colorful ceremony at the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra Auditorium in the capital. In this ceremony organized by the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association (BTWA), 5 distinguished personalities and 1 travel literature magazine were awarded this honor for their outstanding contribution in various branches of travel literature, photography and creativity, a press release said.
The winners of the 2025 award are: Syed Mujtaba Ali Travel Literature Award: Mahfuzur Rahman (Travel Literature Writer). Ramnath Biswas Adventure Travel Award: Muntasir Mamun (Adventure Writer). Saida Khanam Travel Photography Award: Mustafiz Mamun (Photographer). Best Creative Art Director: Anisuzzaman Sohel (Creative Designer). Best Travel Literature Magazine: Travel Prose (Editor: Mahmud Hafiz). Best Travel Content Creator: Salahuddin Sumon.
In a video message from the United States, the organization’s president, Ashrafuzzaman Ujjal, said, “Usually, there is a tendency to recognize talented people after their death. But we think that a person’s work should be evaluated during his lifetime.”
In his speech, Mohiuddin Helal, editor of Parjatan Bichitra and director of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, said, “Coordinated efforts by government agencies and the private sector to develop tourism literature are the need of the hour. Although there is a lot of work on tourism abroad, we lack coordination here.”
Unmad Editor Ahsan Habib, Consumer Rights Association President AHM Shafiquzzaman, and media personality Mr. K. M. Harun were present as special guests.
At the beginning of the program, the organization’s general secretary Jahangir Alam Shobhan delivered a welcome speech. The organization’s executive members Fuad bin Omar and Shakil bin Mostaq moderated a discussion on the award-winning literary works and felicitation of the distinguished guests. It is worth noting that the organization has announced that this award will continue to be given every two years.
