Md Anwar Shahid, managing director of Shimex International Limited, has been elected president of the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the term of 2026-2027, a press releases said.
Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, managing director of GD Assist Limited, has been elected secreta ry general of the chamber, said a press release.
The for the new Board of Directors were officially announced following the conclusion of the Chamber’s election process by the
BMCCI election board chairman Shahab Uddin Khan announced the election results on April 30 at the BMCCI premises.
Shahid founded Shimex International in 1993 and currently serves as its MD. He is also founder of MAS Consultants BD. He has a long-standing history of leadership in trade facilitation and has been a dedicated member of BMCCI, working to promote commercial exchange and business synergies between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
The newly elected BMCCI board comprises senior vice-president MA Bakar, managing director of Jaycee Shipping Agency Limited, vice-president Shaikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun, CEO of Aero Speed International Limited, vice-president Md Arfatur Rahman (Apel), proprietor of Arafat Motors & Machineries, joint secretary general M Mahmudur Rashid, MD of Grasshopper Corporation, joint secretary general Md Mamunur Rahman, CEO of EXPOPRO, and treasurer Ahmed Kabir, MD of WorldBD Trade Limited.
