Mount Elizabeth Hospital launches ‘Privilege Card’ for BGMEA members’ healthcare

A special privilege card has been officially launched by Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore to facilitate and ensure access to world-class healthcare for BGMEA members and their families, a press release said.

A ceremony was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the world-famous Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore at the Westin Hotel in the capital yesterday (Sunday) to mark the launch of the above privilege card.

Yong Yih Ming, Chief Executive Officer of Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Jack Tan, Country Manager for Bangladesh, China and Myanmar of IHH Healthcare, and Zahid Hasan Khan, Director of IHH Healthcare Bangladesh Office were present at the event.

Present on behalf of BGMEA were Director Shah Raed Chowdhury, Director Joadar Mohammad Hosne Qamar Alam, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Skilled Development Program (SDP) Jabed Hossain Bhuiyan; and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Traceability and Digital Product Passport (DPP) Maisha Mahmud.

BGMEA Director Shah Raed Chowdhury spoke on behalf of BGMEA at the event. It is noteworthy that, under the dedicated initiative and leadership of BGMEA Director Shah Raeed Chowdhury, and under the overall supervision of BGMEA Director Nafis-ud-Daulah, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between BGMEA and Parkway Hospitals Singapore (now IHH Healthcare Singapore) on 10 December 2025 to ensure international healthcare for BGMEA members, in continuation of which the Mount Elizabeth Hospital Privilege Card has been launched.

Speaking at the card launch, BGMEA Director Shah Raeed Chowdhury said, “We are delighted that the CEO of Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, has come to us in person to demonstrate their utmost commitment to BGMEA members. Through this card, our general members and their family members will directly enjoy VIP status, special corporate discounts and top priority access to Singapore’s world-class medical network without any middlemen or bureaucratic complications. This is the successful fruit of an ongoing and relentless effort by the current board to ensure the overall well-being of our members.”

Yong Yeh Ming, CEO of Mount Elizabeth Hospital, who arrived from Singapore, said, “We are extremely proud to be associated with a leading organization like BGMEA. Through this privilege card, BGMEA members and their families will be able to receive high-quality modern and specialized medical services in Singapore with maximum convenience, comfort and priority.”

In his welcome speech, Zahid Hasan Khan, Director of Mount Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (Bangladesh Office), detailed the benefits and various corporate privileges under the Privilege Card.

Through this Privilege Card, BGMEA members and their family members will get special corporate discounts on various fixed packages including executive health screening at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

In addition, the cardholders will get other special benefits and privileges, including – 24-hour dedicated emergency hotline access;

Top priority in medical visa processing and appointments with top specialists;

Free airport pick-up facility from Changi Airport in Singapore to the hospital;

Completely free medical planning advice and institutional support, etc.

BGMEA Director Joadar Mohammad Hosne Qamar Alam delivered the closing speech. Senior officials of both organizations were present at the event.
