Dhaka : BRAC Bank and the British Council Bangladesh in collaboration with Toastmasters International recognised outstanding student talent from national curriculum-based Bengali medium schools and colleges at the grand finale of the English Speech Competition, according to a press release.
The competition, powered by BRAC Bank’s Agami – Student Banking platform was held on May 25 at the British Council Bangladesh Headquarter Auditorium. The event provided a national stage for students to showcase their public speaking prowess, critical thinking, and English communication skills. Over 33 schools from five divisions participated in the programme, with students competing through preliminary, regional and final rounds. This year’s competition culminated in an awarding ceremony where Laiba Montaha from Navy Anchorage School and College was named winner in Group A (Grades 9–10), while Aaron Nafi from Halishohor Cantonment Public School and College won in Group B (Grades 11–12). Finalists were evaluated on the strength of their content, delivery, and language proficiency by a panel of expert judges before a live audience.
Representing BRAC Bank were Mahiul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking, and Natasha Kader, Senior Manager, TARA – Women Banking and Agami – Student Banking segments along with other officials. Distinguished guests from the British Council Bangladesh included Maxim Raimann, Country Exams Director; Sarwat Reza, Director of Business Development, Exams; and Sana Shahid, Master Trainer, Business Development Exams.
