DHAKA : For demanding the formation of a commission and an increase in the budget for the development of education in Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust organized a national roundtable conference titled What kind of budget do we want for education on May 28, 2025. Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury, was present as the chief guest at the national roundtable meeting organized at Dainik Ittefaq Bhaban under the auspices of Daffodil International University, according to a press release.
The program was presided over by Principal Nure Alam Talukder, Managing Director of Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust. Among others, Professor Dr. M Shamsher Ali, the founding Vice-Chancellor of Open University, Professor Dr. Farid Ahmed Sobhani, Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, Abul Khair Chowdhury ,Marketing Director of Daily Ittefaq, , Md. Anwar Habib Kazal Senior Assistant Director (Public Relations) of Daffodil International University, Habibur Rahman, Former Deputy Secretary and Director of Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust, , Alamgir Kabir, Senior Teacher of Trust Model Academy, Rehana Parvin, Former Chief News Caster of Bangladesh Betar, BM Faisal Munir, Advocate Kamrun Nahar Liza, educational researchers and renowned educationists were present at the round table conference.
Speaking as the chief guest at the round table conference, former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury said, "Although we have seen many reform commissions in the changing Bangladesh, no commission has been formed for the overall development of the education system. In the past, we have submitted the report of the Education Commission to various governments, but there has been no review of the report or any practical use of it. The government's policy makers should also form an education reform commission with the participation of all the educationists of the country.
