JICA’s President Tanaka met with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Yunus

TOKYO : Tanaka Akihiko, President, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has met with Professor Dr.Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser, Interim Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, according to a press release.

In Tokyo At the outset, Tanaka Akihiko explained that JICA will continue to cooperate with the interim governmentto achieve sustainable and inclusive growth and development of Bangladesh. In response, Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus expressed his gratitude for the continuation and strengthening of JICA’s cooperation in Bangladesh.

They also discussed the importance of cooperation for industrial growth such as Moheshkhali-Matarbari Integrated Infrastructure Development Initiative (MIDI) development and connectivity with neighboring countries, as well as the enhanced opportunities for the young generation.

Both parties further exchanged views on reforms by the interim government, further improvement of the investment climate, and the importance of safety and security for those involved in JICA projects.
