Eastern Bank launches Mastercard virtual prepaid cards

DHAKA : Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has formally launched Mastercard Virtual Prepaid Cards at a ceremony held at the bank’s head office in Dhaka recently. The new cards are designed to offer a fully digital and eco-friendly payment solution to customers. The virtual cards are available in two variants- EBL Banglalink Mastercard Co-Brand Virtual Prepaid Card and EBL Mastercard Aqua Virtual Prepaid Card, according to a press release.

The EBL Virtual Prepaid Card offers a fully digital card issuance experience through the Skybanking mobile application, allowing new customers to obtain and activate their cards without requiring an existing banking relationship. This streamlined digital onboarding delivers comprehensive card services directly to users' smartphones, integrating robust security features with flexible usage options and environmentally conscious design.

EBL Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar, Additional Managing Director and COO Osman Ershad Faiz, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail and SME Banking M.
