DHAKA : Leaders of Natundhara Bangladesh NDB have stated that violence in Bangladesh is increasing due to the failure of the Nobel peace prize laureate. In a joint statement issued on July 12, Chairman Momin Mahadi, Presidium Member and valiant freedom fighter Fazlul Haque, Senior Vice Chairman Shanta Farjana, and Acting Secretary General Kazi Munni Alam strongly condemned the barbaric incident at Mitford and demanded exemplary punishment of those responsible, according to a press release.
They further stated that in the past, due to the failures of fascist regimes, people in Bangladesh were brutally murdered in broad daylight. Now, even though Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus received the Peace Prize, he has failed to establish peace in the country. As a result, violence is increasing in a horrifying manner, and the so-called student government or interim government is pushing the nation toward an era resembling the Age of Ignorance (Ayyam-e-Jahiliyyah). People are being stoned to death in a manner reminiscent of primitive times.
Previously, the ideals of the Liberation War were sold out, causing immense suffering to the people. Now, by exploiting the so-called “July spirit,” various political platforms—both in power and in the race for power—are being encouraged to commit murder, rape, mob attacks, and political violence.
In this critical situation, Natundhara Bangladesh NDB urgently demands the immediate removal of the incompetent Home Advisor and Secretary. Additionally, it calls for the dismissal of the DIG of Police, DMP Commissioner, RAB Chief, and other responsible officials, replacing them with ethical, corruption-free personnel.
