Lubricant industry needs more investment and tech integration

Dhaka : Keeping pace with the global market, experts think Bangladesh has great potential and a bright future in the lubricant industry. Thus, they have emphasized the need for increased investment in this industry at the ‘PETRONAS Lubricants Industrial Seminar 2025’ held at the United Convention Center in Dhaka.  Representatives from leading lubricant-related companies, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers came under one roof through this seminar to discuss about the ongoing situation and future prospects of the lubricant industry in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

The leaders shared their valuable insights and thoughts on the industry and called for collective support to take the sector forward. They also think that to ensure sustainable growth in this sector, adopting advanced technology should be prioritized.  Wayez Mahmud, the Director of United Lube Oil Limited, remarked, ‘Lubricants are one of the fastest-growing industrial sectors in Bangladesh. To ensure environmentally friendly, technologically advanced, and sustainable lubricant production and usage, it is essential to increase investment and research in this field.’ Other notable speakers included Chong Wen Hong, Head of Industrial Lubricants for the Asia-Pacific region at PETRONAS Lubricants International, and Mohammad Mahbub Hasan, General Manager of United Lube Oil Limited.
