Eastern Bank PLC. (EBL) has been honored as one of the Top 10 Sustainable Banks of 2024 by Bangladesh Bank (BB), acknowledging its strong commitment to sustainability, green finance, and responsible banking practices, a press release said.
The certification was presented toAli Reza Iftekhar, managing director, EBL, at the Sustainability Rating Recognition Ceremony held at Bangladesh Bank by Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, governor Bangladesh Bank. Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar, Director (SFD) Chowdhury Liakat Ali were also present along with other distinguished guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Iftekhar said: “This recognition will motivate us to further advance green financing, climate risk management, and eco-efficient banking; reinforcing our commitment to a low-carbon, inclusive future for Bangladesh.”
