Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC(SJIB) has provided scholarships to 400 poor and meritorious students who have passed SSC and equivalent examinations from different parts of the country. They are currently studying in various colleges of the country. There are 200 male and 200 female students among the scholarship recipients. A total of 2,20,00,000.00 (two croretwenty lac) taka will be given to the 400 scholarship recipients to complete their courses in two years. The scholarship cheques were officially distributed at a ceremony organized at the bank’s corporate head office on 27th August 2025. There are 50 (fifty) scholarship recipients received the scholarship chequeat the ceremony. The scholarship money of the remaining 350 scholarship recipients will be paid into their respective bank accounts within a stipulated time. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank A. K. Azad handed over the scholarship cheques among the students as Chief Guest in the program. The Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over in the program. The SEVP & Company Secretary of the Bank Md. Abul Bashar moderated in the program, a press release said.
Among others the Vice-Chairmen of the Board Mohammed Younus Mohiuddin Ahmed, the Directors Md. SanaullahShahid, Md. Abdul Barek, Abdul Halim, Akkas Uddin Mollah, Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, the Independent Directors Nasir Uddin Ahmed & Md. Reazul Karim were present in the meeting. Besides the Additional Managing Director of the Bank Imtiaz U. Ahmed, the Deputy Managing Director M. M. Saiful Islam, the SEVP & Head of Internal Control and Compliance Division Mohammed Ashfaqul Haque, FCA, FCS, the CFO of the Bank Md. Jafar Sadeq, FCA, the Head of Investment Monitoring Division Rumana Kutubuddin, the Head of Investment Risk Management Division Md. Amzad Hossain, the In-Charge of Public Relations Department & Bank Foundation K. M. Harunur Rashid and the scholarship students were also present in the program.
