A Focus Group Discussion titled “Contribution of the Plastic Industry in the Economy of Bangladesh” was held at Hotel Intercontinental, Dhaka on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the initiative of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA), a press release said.
Stakeholders concerned with the current status, challenges, prospects and contribution of the plastic industry in Bangladesh and its contribution to the national economy participated in this Focus Group Discussion.
The Honorable Commerce Secretary of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mahbubur Rahman, was present as the chief guest in this Focus Group Discussion while SME Foundation Chairman Md. Musfiqur Rahman was present as a special guest. Shams Zaman, Country Managing Partner of PWC Bangladesh presented a Keynote on the main topic.
BPGMEA President Shamim Ahmed chaired the Focus Group Discussion and delivered valuable remarks on the plastic sector. M. Iqbal Hossain, Senior Vice President, BPGMEA, in his closing remarks, expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone for participating in the program.
