Youth will resist fascism in Bangladesh: Adilur

NATORE : Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today said that the people of Bangladesh, particularly the youth will resist and defeat fascism by foiling any conspiracy in the future.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the newly built July Martyrs Memorial Monument in front of the Government Public Library in Natore this morning.

Adilur, also the Industries Adviser said that although fascism was defeated in the past, conspiracies are still being hatched to revive it. “The youth and people of this country will not allow fascism to return,” he added.

Honoring the July warriors as “the children of this country’s sun,” the adviser remembered their recalled their unwavering commitment and supreme sacrifice.

“The nation will remember them forever,” he said, noting their role in the fight against fascism, extrajudicial killings and the denial of human rights.

He added that their struggle for freedom, which united the people of Bangladesh, culminated in the victory achieved through the historic 36-day movement in July.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen presided over the ceremony, while Housing and Public Works Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam and Natore Police Superintendent Mohammad Tariqul Islam also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, the adviser visited the graves of five martyrs at different graveyards in Natore town.

He also toured the Uttara Ganabhaban and held meetings with families of July martyrs at the Natore Circuit House during his two-day visit.
