Now Everyone Will Know Semiconductors; Book Unveiled by Ulkasemi CEOMake Semiconductors Accessible to Everyone: Historic Release of First Bangla Semiconductor Book
Semiconductors are now at the heart of the global technology industry. Yet, in Bangladesh, the sector remains largely unknown to the general public and has so far been limited only to teachers and students of electronic engineering. To introduce this vital sector to all segments of society, the first Bangla book on semiconductors, “The Advancement of Technology: Semiconductors and Bangladesh’s Potential,” has been officially launched. The book is authored by Mohammad Enayetur Rahman, pioneer of Bangladesh’s semiconductor industry and CEO & President of Ulkasemi.
Published by Student-Ways, this is the first comprehensive book written in Bangla on the present and future of the country’s semiconductor industry. It covers contemporary issues, the basics of semiconductor technology, its significance in the global industry, and outlines a visionary roadmap for Bangladesh. For engineering students and professionals, it provides extensive guidance based on international experiences.
At the book launch event, Enayetur Rahman said, “When I look at our neighboring countries, I don’t just see competition; I see a plan of action. There is no reason why Bangladesh cannot achieve similar success. Our talented students are the key to building that future, supported by their teachers and parents. This book is for everyone.”
The event was attended by Rozaimee Abdullah, First Secretary of the High Commission of Brunei; Md. Yousup Faruqu, Country Managing Director of Microsoft for Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal; and Dr. Arifa Chowdhury Rahman, Chairperson of Ulkasemi. Also present were faculty members including Prof. Dr. Bobby Barua from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Dr. Mainul Hossain from University of Dhaka, Dr. G. R. Ahmed Jamal from University of Asia Pacific (UAP), Dr. Mohammad Masum Billah from Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Mr. Md. Dara Abdus Satter & Dr. Md. Rezwanul Ahsan from Daffodil International University, Dr. Md. Anwarul Abedin Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur, alongside students, technology experts, young tech enthusiasts, and senior officials of Ulkasemi.
In modern technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), heavily rely on semiconductor chips. Ulkasemi, the country’s leading semiconductor company, is working on these future-defining technologies. The company has built a strong team of 550 skilled Bangladeshi engineers and is working toward transforming the nation’s semiconductor industry into a multi-billion-dollar market by 2030.
