Five bodies have been recovered after a fire broke out at a gas lighter factory in Kadamtali, Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
The bodies were recovered from the scene, but their identities have not yet been confirmed. An investigation is underway.
At least one person was injured in the incident and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The fire was brought under control after about an hour and a half of efforts by seven firefighting units.
The fire was reported at 1:13 p.m., after which multiple units were dispatched to the scene. Additional teams joined as the scale of the fire became clear.
Rescue and firefighting operations continued until the situation was brought under control.
