Dhaka : The Student Experience and Community Building Committee of the Department of Marketing International Business (DMIB) in collaboration with NSU MIBC recently had the pleasure of hosting an incredible session titled “Beyond the Books: Crafting Careers in Marketing and International Business”. It offered students a valuable opportunity to explore real-world career journeys beyond academic learning and gain firsthand insights from industry experts, according to a press release.
The session was graced by the presence of Dr. Waresul Karim, Dean, School of Business & Economics (SBE) Dr. Khandaker Md Nahin Mamun, Chairperson, Department of Marketing & International Business (DMIB). Student Experience Committee of MIB was honored to welcome three distinguished keynote speakers whose diverse experiences and valuable insights truly enriched the session. Wara Farzana, currently serving as a Financial Crime Operations Analyst at National Australia Bank (NAB), Australia, shared her inspiring journey from the classrooms of NSU to the global banking industry. She emphasized the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and strong communication skills in building an international career. Md. Asifur Rahman, the Area Senior Brand Manager – AWAP Brands at BAT APMEA Central (Bangladesh Sri Lanka), British American Tobacco Ltd., provided an engaging overview of his career progression within BAT. He offered valuable guidance on how to effectively balance extracurricular activities and academics during university life. Yaseer Ahsan, Vice President of Merchant Payments in the Commercial Division at bKash Limited, shared his experience managing diverse marketing campaigns throughout his career. He delved into the intricacies of campaign planning, execution, and measuring impact, highlighting the real challenges and lessons he encountered along the way. This session reflects the continued commitment of North South University in bridging academic learning with real-world experiences, helping students gain the insight and inspiration needed to shape their future careers.
