Typhoid vaccination campaign inaugurated in Narayanganj

The typhoid vaccination campaign has been inaugurated in Narayanganj organized by the District Civil Surgeon’s Office, a press release said.

On Sunday (October 12) morning, a discussion meeting was held at the city’s Hajiganj Government Primary School under the chairmanship of District Civil Surgeon Dr. Abul Fazal Muhammad Mushiur Rahman. The typhoid vaccination campaign was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah as the chief guest.

At the inauguration ceremony, the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, said that the typhoid vaccination campaign has been inaugurated in Narayanganj, welcoming the initiative of the Bangladesh government. Children and adolescents aged 9 months to 15 years will receive this vaccine. 5 lakh 1 thousand 721 people in Narayanganj district will be vaccinated within 18 days. Care should be taken that no one is left out of the vaccination program.

He also said that if a child is left out for any reason, they can later get vaccinated at the permanent vaccination center of the Upazila Hospital. If someone is deprived of typhoid vaccination and gets infected with typhoid in the future, that responsibility will fall on us. We want to raise our children to be skilled and healthy. We want those who will become the assets of our country to not get infected with the disease in any way.

Also present at the inaugural ceremony were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Alamgir Hossain, Deputy Director of District Family Planning Md. Shahidul Islam, District Primary Education Officer Ferdousi Begum, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Taslima Shirin, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Muhammad Jamal Hossain, Surveillance Immunization Medical Officer (World Health Organization) Dr. Md. Morshedul Islam Khan, Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Umme Farhana, Sadran Upazila Family Planning Officer A, Ta, M Borhan Uddin, Sadar Upazila Education Officer Jahanara Khanam, Hajiganj Government Primary School Headmaster Alauddin Khan Liju, Md. Morshedul Islam Khan and District EPI Superintendent Lutfar Rahman and officials at various levels.
