Grameen HealthTech hosts discussion on Breast Cancer awareness

Breast cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women worldwide. To emphasize the importance of early detection and awareness, the month of October is globally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, reports BSS.

The key to successfully combating this disease lies in early diagnosis, public awareness and proper medical treatment. In line with this awareness initiative, Grameen HealthTech recently organized a discussion session titled “Breast Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Management through Digital Innovation.”

Dr. Halida Hanum Akhter, Public Health Specialist and Senior Faculty, Department of International Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; Center for Cancer Care Foundation (CCCF), was present at the discussion.

She discussed the importance of early detection. Dr. Abu Jamil Faisal, Public Health Specialist and Executive Committee Member, encouraged lifestyle, dietary habits and avoidance of various tobacco products. Professor Dr. Shahnaz Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences, emphasized the importance of community awareness and management.

The discussion was successfully moderated by Dr. Hossain Al-Amin, Clinical Manager, Grameen Healthtech Limited, where welcome speech was delivered by the senior management members of the company and the closing speech was delivered by Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, CEO (GHL).
